Laboratories and prime contractors
Drawing packages, GD&T, NDAs, and US-only file handling. A sketch, a PDF, or existing CAD is enough to quote. If the job is export-controlled, the handoff is set before anything moves.
Optomechanics and high vacuum
Flanges, viewports, feedthroughs, chambers, breadboards, and functional optical devices. Models and drawings a shop can run — quality files for quality parts.
Directed energy and optical sensors
Beam layouts, benches, housings and field-support hardware, integrated hardware, alignment fixtures, and platform specific adaptation hardware.
Home-shop and 3D-print jobs are still taken. They are quoted as small packages so they do not sit in the same queue as a controlled drawing set.

Class of work, not stock photos of “CAD.”
Parts, assemblies, layouts, and illustration. Representative — client files are never shown.
Published floors. Most company work is quoted as a package.
Rates below are hourly floors, not a menu of cheap hours. They exist so the first email is honest. Once I have seen the files, most laboratory and contractor jobs are quoted as a fixed set: scope, formats, revision count, and a delivery date.
You are not buying a drafting mill. You are buying a principal who has already shipped optical, mechanical, and electronic CAD into hardware. The rate covers that judgment, not just mouse time.
2D drafting
$75/hrASME Y14.5-2018 GD&T drawings that a shop can actually inspect to. Parts, assemblies, BOMs, and revisions — not pretty pictures of dimensions.
Details3D modeling
$95/hrParametric mechanical CAD models built to real-world dimensions — parts, assemblies, layouts, and packaging you can revise later instead of starting over.
DetailsAdvanced CAD
$115/hrLinked 3D/2D packages for vacuum hardware, optomechanics, and laser benches — models tied to inspectable GD&T, rebuilds of broken files, and media that still matches the CAD.
DetailsIllustration
$95/hrProposal, scientific, concept, and functional-device illustration from the CAD — bid-package figures, exploded views, cutaways, and how-it-works art that still matches the model.
DetailsProduct design
$145/hrConcept through prototype for benches, chambers, and instrument packages — one principal owning the layout, the metal, the drawings, and the figures.
DetailsDIY / 3D print
$55/hrQuick CAD for makers: a sketch or a photo in, a printable file out. Simple parts to 3D print, without a production drawing package or an open-ended bill.
DetailsDIY hours exist so a printable bracket does not cost a laboratory rate. Laboratory work is not priced as a printable bracket.
Quoted with a date. Built to hit it.
CADCraft is a specialist practice, not a bench of junior drafters. You work with a professional CAD expert in Albuquerque. Thirty years of aerospace CAD — optical, mechanical, and electronic — that became real hardware and programs that worked in the lab and in the field.
The product is CAD. Files stay in the United States. Company packages and small jobs use the same published floors; the difference is scope, not who touches the file.

I reply within one business day. A PDF, existing CAD, or a photo of the hardware is enough. NDA first if you need it. Controlled files by arrangement.
